Workshop making your own peanut butter
All about peanut butter
We started the workshop with a delicious hot cup of coffee and tea. After a nice introduction to a friendly group of people, we were given interesting facts about, among other things, the origin and making of peanut butter. Did you know, for example, that peanut butter originally comes from Canada? There, peanut butter, better known as 'peanut butter', was made after there was a surplus of peanuts. You would think that it would have made more sense if it had been called 'peanut butter' in our country. This is not the case, because the Dutch Butter Act determined that products that did not contain dairy products could not be advertised as 'butter'. Of course, we were then able to taste all the delicious peanut butter flavours in the store.
Get started yourself
After hearing all the super fun facts and trivia about peanut butter, we got to work making our own peanut butter. To do this, we first ground peanuts in a mortar to transform them into 100 percent smooth peanut butter. Now I was lucky that I had been to the gym a few times, because for this job it is useful to be a bit strong. But don't be afraid, because luckily you don't have to pound your entire jar together. The Peanut Butter Shop has already done some preliminary work and there is a peanut butter tap from which everyone can tap their own jar. Everyone would want to have this tap at home! 'SOS where can I buy this tap?' The next part of the workshop is my favorite! It is high time to create your own unique flavor. High time to let your imagination run wild. By making and tasting original combinations you can come up with a delicious new and unique flavor. The nice thing about this is that everyone inspires each other. A delicious (corona-proof) tasting full of sweet, salty, savory and spicy flavors. I am a big fan of the date-cinnamon peanut butter. If I have this in the house, it is gone within a week because I can't keep my hands off it, I like it that much. For me, therefore, a real challenge to make an even tastier peanut butter. I took on the adventure and I will already reveal that I succeeded! Everyone made a flavor that you could lick your fingers, it was that tasty. We were allowed to vote for the tastiest flavor and the winner received a super fun peanut prize! To make the homemade peanut butter even more personal, everyone makes their own label with a self-invented name for the Peanut Butter. I made my Peanut Butter for my boyfriend with the name: For when you miss me. I am very curious if he misses me a little and if it will be gone quickly. We will see. Ps: What is nice is that on the day of the workshop you also get a 10 percent discount on the entire assortment!! Book your workshop here!
